This is a varied role combining transport planning, administration, systems and communication. You will help coordinate local deliveries and collections, maintain accurate information within our Transport Management System, communicate with drivers and Palletline partners, and take ownership of operational issues through to resolution.
Previous transport or planning experience is important, but equally important are excellent IT and administration skills, logical thinking, attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly and problem-solve at pace.

- Manage the administration associated with Palletline deliveries and collections, including manifests, paperwork, redeliveries, returns and failed or amended jobs
- Monitor daily freight volumes and identify capacity or resource issues, escalating and supporting alternative planning where required
- Communicate regularly with drivers, providing clear instructions and resolving operational issues throughout the working day
- Manage communications and queries from Palletline partners, customers and internal teams, ensuring issues are responded to accurately and promptly
- Work closely with Goods in Transit (Warehouse) to ensure freight is correctly identified, available and prepared for planned routes, and that loading or freight issues are resolved quickly
- Identify operational exceptions and take ownership of progressing them through to resolution, ensuring systems and relevant teams are kept updated
Skills Required
- Excellent IT and systems capability, with the ability to navigate multiple systems quickly and accurately, learn new software rapidly and work confidently at pace
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Previous experience within transport, logistics or planning, with an understanding of a fast-moving transport environment
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving ability, with the confidence to assess issues and identify practical solutions
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and changing requirements while remaining organised under pressure
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills when dealing with drivers, customers, Palletline partners and colleagues
- Good geographical knowledge, with an understanding of vehicle capacities, route planning and multi-drop operations
Personal Attributes
- Highly organised, accurate and dependable, with a strong sense of personal responsibility
- Calm and effective when working in a busy, fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly
- Proactive and naturally inquisitive, with a willingness to learn and understand how the wider operation works
- A positive problem-solver who takes ownership of issues and follows them through to resolution
- A strong team player who communicates well and builds effective working relationships across Transport, Goods in Transit and Customer Support
- Flexible and open to new systems, processes and better ways of working
